What Is Mixed Media Art?
Share
Mixed media art combines multiple artistic materials and techniques into a single piece. Contemporary collage artists often use paper, paint, texture, found materials, and layered elements to create depth and visual interest.
My own mixed-media process begins with hand-cut paper sourced from magazines, packaging, and other printed materials. Each piece is carefully assembled layer by layer, creating artwork that often appears painted from a distance.
For collectors, mixed media art offers a unique combination of texture, craftsmanship, and storytelling that cannot be replicated through digital processes alone.
