Collection: Tide Keepers

Tide Keepers is rooted in the quiet resilience of the Pacific—an echo of the pace that has always shaped my own life.
Growing up along the North Coastal stretch of San Diego in the 70s and 80s, I was immersed in a culture of environmental responsibility through programs like I Love a Clean San Diego. That early connection to the coastline became a lifelong devotion to the ocean and its fragile ecosystems.

As an undiagnosed dyslexic until my late twenties, I learned slowly but deeply—building understanding layer by layer, like tides shaping stone. Aesop’s The Tortoise and the Hare parallels this rhythm in my journey; I have always moved with the turtle’s pace: steady, intentional, grounded.

Tide Keepers honors that philosophy. 
Through reclaimed paper and layered collage, the series celebrates sea turtles and other marine life that survive not by speed, but by endurance. These works reflect both the urgency of ocean conservation and the beauty of steady, lasting progress.
